The Flywheel: Dual Investment on autopilot

A yield on USDT while it waits to buy a dip, and on the stock while it waits to sell.

The Flywheel rolls OKX Dual Investment products on a tokenized stock, on your own OKX account. Each round pays a coupon whether or not it converts, so the capital earns while it waits to buy low or sell high.

How a round works

A Dual Investment product is a short deposit with a target price. You commit an amount until a settlement date and are paid a coupon (shown as an APR) either way. What you get back depends on the price at settlement.

  • Buy low: you commit USDT with a target below today's price. If the stock settles at or below the target, you receive the stock, bought at the target. If not, your USDT comes back.
  • Sell high: you commit the stock with a target above. If it settles at or above the target, you receive USDT. If not, the stock comes back.

The Flywheel chains the two: buy low until a lot is bought, then sell that lot high, then start again.

What it does for you

  1. Every 15 minutes it reads the buy-low products listed for your stock and keeps those that pass your filters: the minimum APR, how far below the current price the target must sit, the longest term and, if you set one, your target buy price, the highest price it will ever buy at.
  2. Among those it subscribes to the highest APR (the shortest term on a tie). One subscription is open at a time.
  3. At settlement, if it was not triggered the USDT and coupon come back and it looks again. If it was, you now hold the stock.
  4. It then offers that stock in a sell-high product, using the exit you chose. Once sold, the USDT goes back to buying low.

When nothing passes your filters, it waits and subscribes to nothing. OKX lists stock products in batches, so waiting is normal.

Before you start

  • An OKX API key with Trade permission (the same key your bots use; withdrawals stay off). Tick Earn on the key as well.
  • Dual Investment opened once in the OKX app: Earn → Dual Investment → accept the terms.
  • USDT in your OKX funding account, not the trading account: subscriptions are paid from funding. The page recommends at least 100 USDT; each OKX product has its own minimum and maximum size. A9 moves nothing between your accounts.

The Flywheel runs live only, with real money.

Launch a flywheel

  1. Open the "Flywheel" tab. If no OKX key is connected, use "Bind OKX" first.
  2. Under "Launch a flywheel", choose the "Underlying" (for example XNVDA) and the "Capital".
  3. Set the filters: "Min APR" (30% by default), "Max term" (14 days), "At least below spot" (1%), and "Target buy price (cap)". The target is optional, but it is the one thing that stops the wheel buying the stock at a high price; a wheel without one says so on its page and offers "Set a target price".
  4. Choose the "Sell price after assignment" (below).
  5. Check "Products now": the products currently listed, sorted by buy price, with the reason any of them fails your filters and a "Will order" tag on the one a launch would take. A long list is folded to the rows around the best fits; "Show all … products" opens the rest. If none fits, the wheel still launches and waits.

  1. Press "Launch live flywheel". A subscription locks the capital until settlement and cannot be cancelled.

The three exits

  • "Take profit at buy price" (default): each lot is offered only in sell-high products whose target is at or above its own buy price, so it never sells at a loss; among those the wheel takes the highest APR. The minimum APR does not apply here; any product with a positive yield is accepted.
  • "Take profit at discount price": offers the lot at its net cost, the buy price minus the coupons already earned. It sells sooner and still does not lose money overall.
  • "Sell immediately on spot": sells at market as soon as the stock is bought. This can sell below the buy price.

Coupons paid in the stock are added to the next sell-high.

Your flywheels and their settlements

Running wheels are listed on the Flywheel tab, and the Bots page shows a "flywheels" row with the capital committed and the coupons earned. Tap a wheel to open its own page.

"Settlement history" lists every round with its Date, Asset, Leg (buy low or sell high), Strike, the price it settled at, the Result (Bought the stock, Sold the stock, Not triggered: USDT back, Not triggered: stock kept) and the Coupon; the chips above it filter to the rounds that switched or were not triggered. Products settle on OKX's schedule on the expiry date. The coupon is paid in whatever you hold after settlement; a coupon paid in the stock is shown with its USDT value at the settlement price, and the total at the top counts every coupon in USDT.

Dual Investment subscriptions on the account that no wheel placed are folded away under "Other subscriptions on this account" and left out of the figures.

Settings, pause, resume, stop

On a wheel's page the settings are shown first as they are.

  1. Press "Edit settings" to change the filters, the target buy price or the exit, then "Save". A change applies from the next subscription.
  2. The same panel holds "Pause next round": once the current subscription settles, nothing new is subscribed, neither a buy nor a sell, until you press "Resume". A paused wheel also offers Resume on its row on the Flywheel tab.
  3. "Stop" is in the panel and in the ⋯ menu. It explains what is still open before it acts. A subscription cannot be cancelled before it settles, so an open leg stays in your OKX account and settles on its date as usual; the dialog suggests pausing the next round instead and stopping once it has settled, and asks you to tick that you understand before "Stop anyway". Stock the wheel holds from an assigned buy stays in your OKX funding account for you to sell or keep; A9 does not sell it.

The ⋯ menu also has "Start another like this", which opens the launch form with this wheel's settings.

The platform fee applies to a flywheel's realized profit (coupons and the spread between buy and sell) the same way as for bots, and its results appear in Profit analysis.

If something goes wrong

  • Insufficient balance on OKX: the USDT is in the trading account. Move it to funding in the OKX app.
  • Nothing subscribes for days: no listed product passes your filters. Lower the Min APR, allow a longer term or a smaller discount, or pick another stock. A waiting wheel may offer to lower its APR to what is listed with one tap, or you can keep waiting.
  • The price fell far below your buy: with the default exit the lot waits until a target at or above its buy price is listed. That can take a long time, and the stock's value moves meanwhile.
